IDMS CONVERSION • Description • Convert historical/legacy data from IDMS Databases to MS SQL 2000 databases • Rewrite legacy inquiry applications in a TRD supported programming language • Justification • Continue to make available historical tax data for research, collection, and release of liens • Eliminate $500,000 - $1,000,000 annual associated mainframe IDMS costs

  3. IDMS Conversion Deliverables • IDMS Data Extraction • SQL Server DBMS Design • Migrate Data to SQL Server • Rewrite Inquiry applications • Acceptance in Production environment

  5. Appropriations • Laws of 2008: Chapter 3, Section 7, Item 4: • $300,000

  6. DoIT System Impact • Purchase new hardware and software and house production equipment at DoIT Data Center • Production implementation of IDMS Replacement system will not impact DoIT – handled by TRD • Executing system in a client/server environment will have no impact on the network bandwidth

  7. Security Strategy • Will utilize the following security structure • Functions • Roles • Will be incorporated into current TRD backup schedule • Weekly backups – as data is static • Will be incorporated in TRD Disaster Recovery Plan

Conclusion • The IDMS replacement system will continue to make available historical tax data for research, collection, and release of liens • Enable TRD ITD to provide our end users, TRD tax collectors, statistical reports and better manage the data • Eliminate $500,000 - $1,000,000 annual associated mainframe IDMS costs
