AVEVA Intouch HMI Tags

Tags in AVEVA InTouch HMI serve as the primary method for storing and exchanging data between the HMI application and external devices such as PLCs, databases, and other systems. Tags represent process values like temperature, pressure, level, motor status, or operator inputs.

  1. AVEVA InTouch HMI Tags

  2. AVEVA InTouch HMI, tags are used to represent process variables and provide access to real-time data, and they come in various types like analog, discrete, string, array, calculated, and event tags, each with unique functions.

  3. Types of AVEVA InTouch tags Memory tags I/O tags Indirect tags Miscellaneous tags Analog Tags Discrete Tags String Tags Array Tags Calculated Tags Event Tags SuperTags

  4. Memory tags Memory Discrete Memory discrete tags are associated with the state properties of a process component. The values assigned to memory discrete tags are two possible Boolean states such as. 0 or 1 False or true On or off High or low Memory Integer (Analog) You can assign memory integer tags 32-bit signed-integers between -2,147,483,648 and 2,147,483,647.

  5. I/O tags I/O Discrete I/O discrete tags are associated with component process properties whose values are represented by two possible states such as. 0 or 1 False or true On or off High or low I/O Integer (Analog) I/O integer tags can be assigned 32-bit signed-integers between -2,147,483,648 and 2,147,483,647.

  6. Alarms About InTouch alarms Alarm priorities Alarm sub-states Alarm acknowledgement Alarm groups

  7. Indirect tags Indirect tags act as "pointers" to other tags. For example, you can create a single InTouch window and use indirect tags to show data from multiple different sets of tags. IF PumpNo == 1 THEN IndPumpRPM.Name = "PumpRPM1"; A QuickScript or operator action points the indirect tag to the ELSE source tags. For example, the following script statements IndPumpRPM.Name = "PumpRPM2"; assign the two PumpRPM tags to an indirect analog tag called ENDIF; IndPumpRPM based on the value of the PumpNo tag.
