We publish some 60 new titles each year • Compendia - Encyclopaedic online reference compilations. Subject areas covered are crop protection, production, forestry, aquaculture and invasive species management & animal health

ICRISAT Mandate • ICRISAT conducts research on five highly nutritious, drought-tolerant crops: • Chickpea Pigeonpea Pearl millet • Sorghum Groundnut • Develops sustainable management of semi-arid tropic (SAT) systems through efficient and sustainable management of natural resources, and • Enables policies and institutions for improving livelihoods and achieving food, nutrition and health security while protecting the environment. • Research Programs • Resilient Dryland Systems – Reducing vulnerability to drought and climate change while increasing crop diversity and value. • Grain Legumes – Raising and securing legume productivity for health, income and sustainability. • Dryland Cereals – Increasing dryland cereal crop productivity to help end hunger.

THE PUBLISHING PROCESS • Steps in publishing a book with CABI • Send me an abstract of the book that you want to write • I will take a decision and then circulate it with my UK colleagues • Once we all agree, I will request you to fill our Publishing proposal • Once that is done, I would request for 2 representative chapters for review • Pending good reviews, I shall then present it to the Publishing Committee (PC) • Once PC gives a green signal, I shall send you our contract • With in 1 year (maximum), I expect to have the full MS • Time taken from abstract to contract is generally 2 months max. Maximum time is due to MS review (anything between 15 days to a month).

Publishing proposal Overview Please provide one or two paragraphs describing the contents of your proposed book, detailing the subject, its academic level, and how it will be approached: What you should not write: Do not generalize; remain subject specific What you should write: Start with the rationale – why you want to write the book (5 lines) What does your book contain – a very brief abstract of your TOC (Table of Contents) – A SUMMARY OF THE BOOK

Moreover, the proposed book includes additional chapters on biocides from wild plants. Therefore, the present book proposal would be economically viable and will cover wide range of readers.
