Leaf Collection: Paper Mulberry and Red Maple Overview
This collection showcases two distinct leaf types: the Paper Mulberry (Broussonetia papyrifera) and the Red Maple (Acer rubrum). Both leaves were collected from my yard on April 30, 2013. The Paper Mulberry features simple, palmate venation with an opposite leaf arrangement, commonly used for high-quality paper production and as a shade tree. The Red Maple also presents a simple, palmate venation and an opposite arrangement, valued for its soft lumber, delicious maple syrup, and numerous cultivars perfect for landscaping.
