  2. Focus View and evaluate video examples of planned activities and tasks in order to discuss variability of instruction for English Language Learners.

  3. Viewing and Rating Procedures • 1. View video # 1 • 2. Individually rate the lesson on its instructional effectiveness for ELLs using a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being exemplary • 3. Use the recording form to justify your rating

  4. Table Talk Activity • What stands out to you and why? • How representative is this of what you see in your classrooms?

  7. Synthesis of Learning Individually - Select the top three ELL strategies that you would look for in classrooms with ELLs at your campus and record on the ELL Video Form. Table Share – Identify ELL strategies common to the group to share with large group. (Have a table member record them.) Round Robin Share – Each table will share 1 strategy.

  8. Session Summary:Instructional Delivery for ELLs must: • Ensure rigorous teaching practices • Recognize learner-focused teaching • Delineate student interactions that promote and encourage language • Develop and accelerate academic vocabulary • Apply the ELPS in the delivery of a lesson
