  3. Background • Pediatric Simulation is a well established method of curriculum-based training in Pediatric intensive care. • We do not have much information of such methods employed in India for PICU trainees.

  4. Introduction • To survey the availability and acceptability of Pediatric simulation training for PICU trainees in PICU recognised training institutions in India.

  5. Methods • A web-based questionnaire was created on survey-monkey • Questionnaire was circulated via email to all the PICU Leads of training institutions in India 5

  6. Results • 20 institutions in India are recognised Fellowship training in PICU. 6

  7. Results • 9 (45%) completed the survey • 3.1 trainees per institution • 3.1 teaching faculty staff per institution

  8. Results • 10% (3/28) of teaching faculty have exposure to Pediatric simulation 8

  9. Results • 2 institutions have some arrangements for Pedisim facilties • 89% of respondents feel the need for introducing Simulation based training to PICU trainees 9

  10. Limitations • Response rates <50% are represented 10

  11. Conclusions Is Pediatric simulation an acceptable method of training the PICU trainees? There is an overwhelming felt need for inculcating Simulation based training in PICU Fellowship training 11

  12. Conclusions Is it available? • Lack of facilities in majority of the institutions • Lack of exposure to Pediatric Simulation of teaching faculty and paucity of trainers are an added challenge 12
