The Polish president and his wife were killed in a plane crash this morning according to the Russian officials. • President LESH KASINZKY and his wife, MARIE, were on board a flight which crashed at 10:56 Moscow time (06:56 GMT)., near the Smolenk airport. Russian Media is reporting that all the 97 passengers were killed. • According to the recently reports the plane got caught up in the tops of trees, fell down to the ground and broke into pieces. There are no survivors. • The Polish Foreign Ministery has confirmed that LESH KASINZKY and his wife, were on board the Tu 154 plane flying from Moscow to Smolensk • They were with several senior government figures on a trip to mark the seventieth anniversary of the Katyng forest massacre , in which thousands of poles were executed by the Soviet Secret Police. • LeshKasinzky became president in December 2005 after defeating Tusk in that presidential vote. • He was the twin brother of Poland’s opposition Leader, former prime minister JAROSLAW KASINZKY. • Kasinzky’s wife, Marie was an economist.
