  2. Welcome • Weaim to help children in Year 4 and Year 5 in the StroudValleysprepare for the GrammarSchool Entrance Test.

  4. Weekly Club Sessions Duringterm time weholdsmall group tutorialseveryweek. Weintroduce new skills and techniques and revisethosealreadymastered. Timedactivities help ensurethatwelearn to work more quickly.

  5. Literacy Verbal reasoningrequires good use of English and a verywidevocabulary. We encourage children to investigate new words to findtheirmeaningssothattheycanfindwordsthat are closest in meaning and most opposite.

  6. Numeracy Verbal reasoning tests include questions on arithmetic and simple algebra. Wework on mental mathematicsincluding tables, calculations and numbersequences.

  7. LogicalThinking Verbal reasoning tests include a widevariety of questions usinglogicalthought. Weintroduce a range of tools to help work out whatisrequired and how to go about answeringthem.

  8. Deciphering Codes Verbal reasoning tests alsorequire a knowledge of how to crack simple codes. The questions are great fun to solve and we help develop the logicalprocessesrequired.

  9. Day-to-dayskills Verbal reasoning tests ofteninclude questions on the skillswe use everydaysuch as using bus or train timetables to calculate the times taken for journeys, relative locations of objectsusingcompass directions.
