  2. A Abolitionists- Members of the growing band of reformers who worked to abolish, or end slavery. John Adams- He helped to negotiate the Treaty of Paris. • Samuel Adams- He was the leader of the Sons of Liberty.

  3. B Bleeding Kansas- Pro-slavery and anti- slavery groups rushed supporter into Kansas. Battle of Bunker Hill – A battle that suffered heavy losses more than 1,000 dead and wounded. George W. Bush- Ronald’s popularity enabled his vice president.

  4. C John C. Calhoun- he was apart of the “War Hawks” Chesapeake Bay- a bay that has a river flowing in it. Civil War- A war fought between the North and the South.

  5. D Declaration of Independence- A document signed by Thomas Jefferson. Daughters of Liberty- Women organized to support the boycott of British goods Democratic Party- This party supported Jackson

  6. E Eighteenth Amendment- Prohibited the production, sale, or transportation of alcoholic beverages. Emancipation Proclamation- It stated that all enslaved people in the states controlled by the Confederacy. • Embargo Act- This prohibits trade w/ another country!

  7. F Battle of Fallen Timbers- This battle crushed the Native Americans hopes of keeping their land. Factory System- system bringing manufacturing steps together in one place to increase efficiency. Federalists-

  8. G Guerilla Warfare- a hit - and-run technique used in fighting a war. Battle of Gettysburg- began when Union cavalry surprised Rebel infinity raiding • Gadsden Purchase- a strip of land the town along the Southern edge of the present-day states of Arizona and New Mexico.

  9. H Alexander Hamilton- A federalist competing against Thomas Jefferson. Harvard College- A college established in 1636 by the Puritans in “Cambridge, Massachusetts”. • John Henry- An African American renowned for his strength and skill in driving the still drills into solid rock!

  10. I Indian Territory- This followed the federal government to pay Native Americans to move west. Industrial Revolution- It began to take root in the United States around 1800, appearing in NE. Inflation- A general increased in prices-caused great hardship for working people.

  11. J Andrew Jackson-He had attacked the Bank of the United States as being an organization of wealthy Easterners Jay’s Treaty- President Washington decided to make one last effort to come to a peaceful with Britian. John Jay- He led the supreme court as chief justice.

  12. K Kansas-Nebraska Act- Douglass proposed abandoning the Missouri Compromise and letting settlers in each territory to vote either to allow slavery. Dr. Martin Luther- He believed that African Americans should use nonviolent protests and civil obedience, or the refusal to obey laws that are considered unjust. John F. Kennedy- was the 35th President of the United States, from 1961-1963

  13. L Abraham Lincoln-He led the Continental Army in the Civil War! Marquis de Lafayette- He was filled with a lot of enthusiasm for the idea
