General Comments • Schedules were fine for submittal, but need to have far more detail to be useful within your groups. • Load paths were good, but need more detail on the specific structural elements. 3. Answer these questions: • How does the wind load get to the column? • How does the altar load get to the column? • Are there any beams in your structure?

  11. IBC Requirements • How does having the Category (A – F) of the structure affect the design of the concrete structural elements (beams, columns, and slab) for gravity load? • How does it effect the design of the masonry walls?

  12. IBC Requirements • Remember that we have a buildingframe system • Gravity loads  Beams, Columns, Slab • Lateral loads  Masonry Shear Walls • But…the two systems still must work together
