  1. Foundational Bible Doctrines Two Realities: Hell & Heaven

  2. Introduction: Heaven and Hell are mentioned numerous times by Jesus Himself. Some people like to believe in Heaven, but don’t want to believe in Hell. If one is real, so is the other.

  3. It is helpful to note the words used in Scripture:Sheol is used 65 times in the Hebrew Old Testament. It is translated “hell” thirty-one times, “grave” thirty-one times, and “pit” three times.Hadesis a Greek word translated “hell in the King James Version. Both Sheol and Hades refer to the same place. Gehenna is a Greek word (with a Hebrew background) and is found twelve times in the Greek New Testament and is translated “Hell”.

  4. Ahaz forsook the worship of Jehovah and followed the devil-god Molech. The king actually sacrificed his own children in the fires as burnt offerings to this idol (2Chron. 28:1-4). This took place in a deep and narrow valley to the south of Jerusalem called the Valley of Hinnom. The practice stopped under Josiah, but the valley continued to be used as the dumping and burning ground for the garbage and filth of the city. The picture is one of filth and sorrow, of smoke and pain, of fire and death! This, then is the word the Holy Spirit chose to use in describing the final destiny for the unsaved. Gehenna Hell was prepared for Satan and the fallen angels and the unsaved will join them for eternity!

  5. HELL IS • A Real Place: • (Mat 18:9 NKJV) "And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire. • (Mat 23:33 NKJV) "Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell? • (Luke 16:23 NKJV) "And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

  6. "Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:..” (Mt 25:41 NKJV) “ then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,...” (2 Pet 2:9 NKJV) “But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.” (2 Pet 3:7 NKJV) A Reserved Place

  7. A Real Place And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, {11} who also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven." (Acts 1:10-11 NKJV) Heaven Is:

  8. A Ready Place (John 14:2-3 NKJV) "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. ( I go to prepare a place for you. {3} "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

  9. A Reserved Place (1 Pet 1:4-5 NKJV) to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, {5} who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Who Will Be There? God Father Jesus Holy Spirit Angelic Beings Elders The Redeemed

  10. “But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city had no need of the sun or of the moon toshine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.”Rev. 21:22, 23

  11. JESUS SAYS “COME”...And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. (Rev. 22:17)

  12. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved... (Acts 16:31) Your destiny is in the cross of Jesus
