Freshman – 4 week cruise studying Navy and Marine Corps history and missions • Sophomore – 4 week cruise learning high altitude and cold water movement, survival techniques • Junior – attend OCS for 6 weeks • Senior – graduate as Second Lieutenant in U.S. Marine Corps • Attend The Basic School (TBS) – 6 months • Video NROTC

  9. 6 months after the completion of OCS, Naval Academy, or NROTC program • Newly commissioned U.S. Marine Corps Officer • Learn art and science of being an Officer • Extensive classroom, field and practical application training • Selected for Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) • Infantry, Military Police, Aviation The Basic School (TBS)

Takes place AFTER earning a Bachelor’s Degree • 12-week program • Naval Station Newport in Rhode Island. • Become a commissioned Navy Line Officer. • Instructed on leadership, physical and military training, and academics related to the command of ships and submarines. Officer Candidate School (OCS)

College Seniors interested in becoming Navy pilots or flight officers: • Attend Aviation Officer Candidate School • Be between the ages of 19-27 • The Aviation Selection Test Battery (ASTB) minimum score of a 4 Academic Qualification Rating (AQR) and a Pilot Flight Aptitude Rating (PFAR) of 5. Aviation Officer
