  2. Logo are an effective way of communicating yours ideas to the viewers. In this era where digital media is at its peak a company definitely needs a Logo to represent itself. Logo becomes identity and identity becomes power for a company. Effective logo design create exclusivity in your brand which help in promoting the brand and increasing its sales. Logo design is not a new invention it was there even thousands of years ago, when man used to craft symbols on trees for travelling purpose, or they mark their cattle’s with their owner name. Some of the questions arises while reading the article • How are logos used? • What are the basic qualities of a good logo design? • What is the main function of a logo? • How have logo evolved? • How many types of logo are there?

  3. Uses of Logos • Logo have diverse range of usage. For example logo of a restaurant is used on utensils, napkins, tables, plates and are printed on the uniforms of the staff to make them represent their brand. A single logo have multiple usage and it specifically represent a brand and make it recognized among peoples. Example: when a person wears a uniform he can easily be associated by the brand, rather than a sales -man with no uniform working for a brand. Therefore it’s necessary for a brand to get it logo printed on all its major assets which can help to bring business.

  4. Basic Qualities • Qualities of a good logo includes clarity of the text and the image upon which a logo is based on. A simple logo is more attractive than a complicated one because it is understandable and convey a unique message rather than a complicated logo in which all the details is lost while fitting it into a scale. Also a simple logo design has a memorability effect on the viewers mind and it is easy to read and grab important information through it. Making a quality work is essential rather than filling up the dots.

  5. Functions of Logo • The basic function of logo is to create an identity in the viewers mind and make itself presentable to the market, so the brand have market reputation and is recognized all around. Logo also create a sense of belonging and loyalty of the brand and it portray a clear image in front of the audience about the brand. Even the symbols of faith is a logo. Different religions have different faiths which represents the ideologies and the principles through those symbols as these symbols have meaning attached.

  6. Evolution of Logo • Logo is not a new thing it was there many centuries ago. As Egyptians used to draw different symbols and images on walls to convey a message. The ancient Romans used to mark their pottery to identify its manufacturer. Most of the cultures at that times uses symbols for the ease of recognition. And also the medical staff were provided a symbol of peace to identify them. These symbols have certain emotions attached to them.

  7. Types of logo: The logo types which I am going to discuss below are the combination of typography or images, just by these simple terms a brand logo is given a totally different look and feel, which helps to get a brand recognized all around the world. Since Logo is the first most thing your users sees and to evaluate your brand accordingly so you need to be careful while selecting a Logo Design. Here are some of the Logo designs that we have gone through and we find this information very useful to share it with you. • “Power, today, comes with sharing information, not withholding it” ` • (Keith Ferrazzi)

  8. Icons or Symbol • This type of logo portray a bold message and increases memorability in the viewers mind that this brand is well recognized enough in the industry and it doesn’t need any more techniques to make itself more attractive and appealing to the audience. The benefits of icons to a company is that it is simple but very effective to make an ideal image and it appear a little more flashy comparing with others logo designs. A human mind can easily remember a simple image rather than a complex one. But making of a simple image that is one of a kind is very necessary we do that work for you! To make complex things go simpler is our kind of work. Here are some examples of big brands with a simple icon.

  9. Wordmarks • Wordmarks is basically a font-based logo design in which company name is written in such presentable manner due to which its name is set apart in the mind of viewers, with such style and graphic a company is given an identity which is easily identifiable and every person on the globe might have seen that wordmark at least once in his life. Many companies create custom fonts which gives them a new identity and mark them apart from others! Some examples include Coca Cola, Samsung, and Disney.

  10. Letter Marks • Letter marks are basically typography based logo design that’s compressed with few initial letters of the company. Many companies uses this type of Logo design to portray the initial letter of their name by using graphics. It is very effective as many companies’ names are too hard to pronounce, or it’s just not distinct enough to carry on their own weight. This makes easier for a viewer to remember a company just by its initials. Some examples are Warner bros, Giorgio Armani and Bugatti Veyron.

  11. Combination Marks • It’s the combination of name and some graphical representation of a brand. A combination mark is a Logo which combine wordmarks and symbols or icons for the flexibility of giving brand a Logo which can contain both of the varieties to use in different applications. A well designed combination mark doubles the look of a logo from just a simple Logo design. Some big brand images can be considered as an example like Rolex, Tissot and TAG Heuer.

  12. Emblem An Emblem logo is in which companies name is encased with its design. Emblem logo has its own uniqueness and is mostly associated with luxurious brands some of which I consider as ideals! Like Ferrari, Lamborghini and Aston Martin.

  13. Conclusion Logo is in the world for centuries as it is used in the era when people used to barter things and now when brands uses it to create its identity. The main focus is to utilize a logo in a way that it conveys a clear message to the consumer that we have an identity.
