  12. Letter Scaffold Dear madam, I am a student at James Busby High School. Shamefully, I must admit that I had never given much thought to the Australian of the Year Award. I always assumed that it was simply given out on Australian Day and it was of little worth. Thankfully this all changed when I was alerted to the bravery of a group of Fire Fighters who put their lives at risk to help others. I was astounded at their bravery and knew that something had to be done to acknowledge all that they had done for the community. After extensive research I have come to the conclusion that the Australian of the Year Award is the perfect way to show these fire fighters our gratitude.
