Establishment of EEC EEC-Nepal was established in order to strengthen socio-economic ties with the EU and the Nepalese entrepreneurs Enlargement of EU Common trade policy(27 Members) Give more multilateral outlook Mushrooming of bi-lateral chambers with less visibility. Nepal's total trade with EU in the fiscal year 2005/06Euro 146.7 million, accounting for 6% of the country's total foreign trade Market access to 500 million people

  4. Mission Statement Be Nepal’s key business forum for information • Contact with the European Union. • Networking between European and Nepalese business and people.

  5. Vision Statement To become the most widely recognized organization between EU and Nepal • For the promotion of commercial activities between Nepal and the European Union.

  6. Objectives • To strengthen socio-economic ties between Nepal and the member states of the European Union. The Chamber endeavours to be a mediator between partners in the Internal Market and the Member States of the European Union and other European countries to enhance the business and social interactions between Nepal and European countries.

  7. Goal EEC-Nepal is optimistic in providing realistic solutions and information to develop human, natural and cultural resources to support health care provisions, safe environment, sustainable development and economic growth in the context of national priorities, making our visions of a better tomorrow come alive.

Services • Organising workshops • Export / Import matchmaking • Arranging visits of delegations of Nepalese companies to EU • Inviting and hosting delegations of companies from the EU • Coordinating information exchange between companies for technology transfers • Providing statistical data on Nepal - European Union trade • Conducting training programmes • Disseminating information on EU legislations such as anti - dumping, safety requirements, and other compliances • Organising and / or helping Nepalese companies participate in International exhibitions

Role of EEC-Nepal • Working as a business information pull for Nepalese and European SMEs. • Arrange matchmaking event Between Nepalese and European SMEs • Encourage and motivate Nepalese SMEs to participate in European Trade fair and Business conference. • Promote Nepalese SMEs and their product in EU market. • EEC-N recognize and appreciate the concept of fair trade. • Promote joint Investment. ( In comparative advantages sector for joint investment)

  10. EU Funded Projects 1) Enhancing the Capacity of Intermediary Business Organisation in Nepal (ECIBON) 2) European Asian Integration in sustainable tourism management (ASIAN-TOUR)

(ECIBON) • Institutional Reinforcement: consists of capacity building of Asian -Nepalese- Intermediary Business Organisations (IBOs) and enhanced networking with European counterparts. • Aim: to make Nepalese IBOs better equipped to service local SMEs and European intermediary counterparts to facilitate trade between Europe and Asia (Nepal). • Target group: 15 Nepalese business IBOs whose capacity strengthened through training, information provision and broadened network.
