1. ROTI BANK ROTI BANK (Living to feed) Mother Teresa once said “If you can’t feed 100 people, then just feed one. Nearly thousands of people sleep daily without food and it’s very sad that some of the others die too because of famine, on the other hand, tons of food is thrown daily on roads and in potholes. What if we provide that food to the ones who cannot afford to have three meals a day or “if we provide the leftover food to the hungry ones” this came to the mind of a retired IPS officer D Sivanandan and it is from here Roti Bank was formed.

The basic work of Roti Bank is to collect leftover food from hotels, cafeterias, birthday parties, meetings, weddings, etc., and distribute it to the slum areas beggars, and the unprivileged and needy ones. The main aim of Roti bank is that no food should be wasted and no one should sleep starving. This work cannot be done by a single person so there are groups created whose motive is to collect food and provide it in slums. Collection Of Food • Collection from Marriages The food which is left in the marriages was usually thrown or wasted but then came the Roti bank. There are groups of members who are working for it, their number or contact details can easily be found online or on the website of roti bank. If there is marriage and there is surplus food left so one can contact Roti Bank. All you have to do is to pack that food and keep it. The member of Roti Bank will come to your and pick that food and distribute it.

3. • Collection From Restaurant It happens in Restaurants that the food is wasted there too. Not only waste but sometimes it happens that the food is prepared in daily quantity but there is no customer walking so it happens that the food prepared is left in bulk and there are chances that the food might get stale. So to protect that food from being thrown on the roads and getting waste restaurants have also tied up with Roti Bank. They just inform the members of the NGO and they go and collect the food. • Daily Collection Roti Bank also collects foods from door to door. There are groups formed in localities which collect food on daily bases also. You need to pack the food and the member of Roti bank will collect the food from your doorstep. Benefit Of Roti Bank The main benefit of this organization is that the food is left at Parties and people want to distribute that food but they don’t have a place or people whom they can give the food, so Roti bank acts as a medium that helps to solve the problem of both the end.

4. Goal OF Roti Bank The main aim of this NGO is that it aims to feed the unprivileged people and stop the wastage of food. Its main aim is to be among the top 5 Food banks in India and help society and feed the needy and poor people.
