School, District, DAC & BOE Process • Leadership Team representatives, grade level and content area teachers meet with administrators to determine areas of focus. • Draft SUIPs are created and shared with school SACs and all teachers, feedback is gathered and collaboration continues on-going through the 1st semester. • A draft is submitted to Andrea by Dec. 20th to begin creating the SUIP one-pagers. Then the DUIP draft is created from the SUIPs, vetted with leadership, presented to DAC and BOE. Up until April 15 submission, SUIPs and DUIP are drafts. • Feedback timeframes: January SUIPS to DAC, February 19th DUIP to DAC, Feb. 24th DUIP to BOE • Final SUIPs and DUIP are submitted to CDE on April 15, 2014.

Review of SUIP Sections • Plan Designation-All schools rated highest-Performance • Pertinent data (not inclusive in one-pager) • Priority Performance Challenges-1-3 areas of focus • Root Causes-Why do we believe the challenges occur? • Major Improvement Strategies-Specific goals • Implementation Benchmarks-What are we going to do? • Interim Measures-How and what will we use to monitor progress throughout the year

Performance Indicators • Academic Achievement = Status-Proficient + Advanced-reading, writing, math and science (5th, 8th and 10th) • Academic Growth = Median growth percentile-reading, writing and math and WIDA for ELLs • Academic Growth Gaps = growth in reading, writing and math by disaggregated groups • Free and Reduced Lunch Program • Minority • Students w/Disabilities • ELL • Students needing to catch up • Post Secondary/Workforce Readiness-Graduation Rate, Dropout Rate, and ACT

  5. SUIPs Focus areas for 2014-2015 SY • EHS: writing, reading for IEP, math (Algebra) • FHS: writing, math • EMS: math, academic achievement & growth for all sub groups • RCE: writing, reading/writing for IEP • SHE: writing, reading, absenteeism
