In 2011, Rotorua showcased its potential as a prime destination for conferences, effectively hosting the Australian Society of Travel Writers Conference, meetings tradeshow, and successfully winning the bid for the Asia Pacific Occupational Therapists Congress in 2015. With over 182 hosted buyers from Australia, New Zealand, and China, and excellent feedback from participants, the region demonstrated significant strength in organizing large-scale events. Ongoing PR efforts resulted in extensive media coverage, ensuring Rotorua remains a top choice for international events.
