  1. Facebook platform owner plan A look at what we do well, and how we can do better.

  2. Our goal on Facebook is to reach as many Greeley and Weld County residents who may be impacted by our stories as possible, and to encourage (civil) discourse while showing The Tribune to be the go-to source of info. in the county. Strategy statement

Women — 69 percent of our fans are women, according to FB analytics25-34-years old — 22 percent of our fans are in this age group35-44 years old — 16 percent of people who engage with our page are in this group, and 18 percent in the 25-34 category. Greeley residents —Largely interested in public safety, politics, weather, video

  4. What does well?

  5. CRIME Duh

  6. But other hot-button issues also do well.

  7. Videos also do well, though Facebook live sports updates that don’t show a game being played typically don’t generate many views.

  8. Business

  9. Weather (too hard to just look outside) and photos

  10. Goals

  11. Reach: Increase our reach by getting at least 6,000 shares and 24,000 interactions every month. When writing headlines/stories, consider why a Greeley/Weld resident would want their friends to see the story, too. Shares and comments that are someone’s name both increase reach. Post stories employed adults may be interested in during high Facebook traffic times: 7-9 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 5 p.m. through the evening. Parent stories, crime can be throughout the day. • Engagement: Every reporter should ask at least one engagement question – or post a poll – each month. Every reporter should make sure to have one video with a story every month, and post the video directly to Facebook. Currently at least 90 percent of our posts are links. Each month we post about 2 or 3 videos. Each month, starting in November, we should have 8 videos, and several Facebook live videos, mainly from sports and crime. That number will vary, but no less than 5 should be our goal. • Followers: Increase the number of followers on the page to 1,000 every two months. Whenever you have a few free minutes, or if you’re checking out how your story did on Facebook, invite people to like the page. For reporters
