Origins
  • Wada-Na-Todo-Abhiyan emerged from the interactions of human rights activists and social action groups who were gathered at the World Social Forum 2004 (Mumbai)
  • WNTA was envisioned as a forceful, focused and concerted effort to make a difference to the fact that one-fourth of the world's poor live in India, and experience intense deprivation from opportunities to learn, live and work in dignity.
  • WNTA was formed by a core group of 40 organizations in 2004-05, which has today developed into a Campaign Co-ordination Group of 105 organizations from across India

  • WNTA aims at the fulfillment of the government’s commitments to end Poverty & Social Exclusion as promised in the MDGs, NDGs & NCMP
  • Thematic Focus on Livelihood, Health, Education & Social Exclusion
  • Campaign Actions undertaken through Mass Mobilization, Policy Audits & Advocacy efforts
  • Governed through a 3 Tier Structure, namely a Campaign Co-ordination Group, Campaign Steering Group & National Secretariat
  • Promotion of decentralized State level campaigns
