A vocal ensemble is a group of singers that have an unlimited range of parts/members • Instrumentation consists of Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass • Choirs can preform almost anywhere, mainly in concert halls • Pieces written for choir ensembles: • - Requiem – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart • - A Ceremony of Carols – Benjamin Britten • - Jingle Bells

  4. Orchestral (String, Brass, Woodwinds, Percussion)

An orchestra is a large instrumental ensemble that contains sections of string, brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments The size of an orchestra is very large because there is a large number of instruments Usually perform in concert halls Pieces Written for Orchestral Ensembles - Anything In Star Wars - Jurassic Park Theme Song

  6. Jazz Ensemble

Jazz Ensemble is a musical ensemble that plays jazz music Usually consist of a rhythm section and a horn section, in the early days often trumpet, trombone, and clarinet with rhythm section of piano, banjo, bass or tuba, and drums. They also have, of course, saxophones, and guitar/bass They can perform almost anywhere About 5 or more members in a jazz band Pieces for jazz bands: Count Basie/Complete Decca Recordings Count Basie/The Complete Atomic Count Duke Ellington/Masterpieces: 1926-1949

Wind ensembles are basically a combination of brass and woodwind instruments (Sometimes a percussion section is used) Size varies in the number of instruments used Wind ensembles, just like the other ensembles, preform in concert halls or anywhere else, depending on the size Piece for Wind Ensembles: "Seventeen Come Sunday" - Ralph Vaughan Williams
