2. www.digipoll.com Who we are We are survey research experts specializing in Telephone & Online surveys.
We started as the 全urvey Research Unit in the University of Waikato.
DigiPoll was established as an independent company in 1997 and expanded to India in early 2007
We provide a total capacity of 130 interviewing work-stations.
Conducted over 100,000 interviewing hours last year We are purely Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing providers. We do field work for Market researchers, media pollsters, environment and town planners. We do not telemarket, we do not provide 0800 and 0900 services, we just ask questions over the phone.
More over, we do not analyze the data, and we do not design questionnaires. We are simply a tool to be used to find answers.
Dr Gabriel Dekel has been invited to the University of Waikato to establish SRU in 1995. In conjunction with the NZ Herald, they were able to provide the most accurate pre election results.
鍍he final pre-election poll for the New Zealand Herald came closest of any to the election-night result.
Due to the cutbacks in funding, SRU had to be shut down in 1996. In 1997 Dr Gabriel decided to start his own company, and hence 泥igiPoll started.
From just 10 people in his garage, DigiPoll has grown to employ over 400 permanent and part time staff in two separate locations. DigiPoll conducted 100,000 interviewing hours last year. 4. www.digipoll.com Affiliation We are also members of Association of Market Research Organisations, helping to promote high industry standards
Since the early 1980's the level of market research activity in New Zealand has sharply increased to the point where - per head - New Zealanders are among the most researched individuals in the world.
Any efficient economy requires a free flow of market information and there is a compelling argument for market research as a vital practice which contributes to the economy. Nevertheless the ongoing effectiveness of market research depends upon the quality of research standards, and the goodwill of those members of the public whose attitudes and behaviours are the subject of research. In 1984 AMRO - Association of Market Research Organisations - was formed as an industry group to help promote consistently high industry standards and to help ensure the maintenance of the public's goodwill.
Membership of AMRO is open to companies engaged in commercial market research whose chief executive is a member of the Market Research Society - the professional body which sets the code of practice for individual researchers in New Zealand. AMRO member companies are also required to hold a 'Market Research Company' membership of the Market Research Society. AMRO member companies co-operate in compiling industry data, establishing professional and ethical standards for the industry and in communicating with the users of research as well as the general public.
To date the standard of market research being carried out in New Zealand has been generally high. However the quality and goodwill currently enjoyed by the industry is by no means assured. This is due to:

Estimates that there are approximately 10% to 15% of all telephones are unlisted.
Secret Formula
METHODOLOGY- The quality of research is only as high as the methods employed. DigiPoll sets high standards in our methods:
Telephone Surveys
We only conduct telephone surveys: they are the fastest, most economical, and easiest way to control quality.
Sampling
A major key to accurate surveying is DigiPoll痴 ability to follow the socio-demographic distribution of a population reliably. The use of the most sophisticated survey software does not, by itself, ensure a good representation of a population. DigiPoll understands socio-demographic distribution and creates the sampling methods that offer a true representation. The system of randomising a sample also plays a crucial role; the better the randomisation, the more accurate the representation provided.
DigiPoll has invested a lot of time and resources into building systems to study the socio-demographic distributions of any particular region. With experience, DigiPoll has developed this system for both New Zealand and Australia. Our method of sample creation enables the survey samples to be randomised across a country, region, or a smaller defined area.
Our unique method has helped to achieve the most precise predictions for the 1996, 1999 and 2002 general elections in New Zealand. Our system not only covers listed telephone numbers, but also traveling members of the population, recent arrivals to the country, and individuals with unlisted telephone numbers.
For delivering a balanced sample, DigiPoll strives for the best possible response rate. We ensure this through repeated recall attempts. The more attempts that are made, the better the chances are that the widest range of respondents is represented in the sample.
Questionnaire design and programming
The reliability of research depends greatly on our ability to translate the research design into a CATI questionnaire. DigiPoll痴 extensive experience in the formulation of questions and response scales, together with the branching and skipping feature of our CATI system, enhances reliability and accuracy of response recording, and, as a result, the survey overall. DigiPoll creates a sincere and focused introduction, tailored for each project, which helps increase response rate.
Auto dialing and response rate
DigiPoll employs the most advanced CATI system in Aotearoa New Zealand. Dialing is done automatically through a modem, which increases interviewer accuracy while reducing the time involved; enables frequent callback attempts to increase the response rate and produces higher levels of productivity. Our CATI system includes an elaborate call-back manager, which records detailed call-status information.
Data Entry
While data entry is primarily by mouse-click, which is a quick and accurate method of recording data, we also use 奏yped-in numeric and verbal responses. This system provides for fast data entry, avoiding delays in registering responses, helping maintain respondent痴 interest, while collecting the most comprehensive data-set possible. Data compilation is done directly into the system database by the interviewer, producing the highest quality transcription and avoiding errors common to manual questionnaires.
Training and Supervision
Interviewing staff are trained and briefed for each job. Our operations manual details strict procedures for recruitment and training, quality control and client communication. Surveys are conducted in a supervised laboratory with supervisors who are able to support interviewers and both detect and correct problems that may arise. Interviewers are monitored for training and quality control, and a variety of verification processes are performed. Statistical analysis of responses is done during the interview process to monitor the demographic balance of the sample. Response rates, quotas and quality are constantly monitored. We have one of New Zealand痴 most advanced CATI system.
