Please make every effort to attend. If you are planning on dismissing your child early, having them put in the parent pick up line, or take a different bus home, please try and call the office by 2:00. Thank you for your understanding. A special thank you goes out to Caitlin Holmberg and Emily Rybicki for faithfully watering our mums in the front of the School and near our Wire Village Sign everyday.

  3. News at Wire Village:Entertainment Book FundraiserOur Entertainment Coupon book sale has begun and will run until October 15th. We will earn money needed for the Wire Village Support Group with the profits from the sale. Each local book is much larger and offering many more local business than ever before! It sells for $30 and contains hundreds of coupons with values up to 50% off restaurants, movies, dry cleaning, travel, and more. Using just a few coupons will more than pay for the cost of the book. Please contact Pat Monfette at (508)885-8524, ext 503 with any questions. From the Nurse If you do not have medical insurance the “MassHealth Plan,” at 1 -800-841-2900 or “The Children’s Medical Security Plan” at 1-800-909-2677 are available. These programs help children and teens obtain free or low-cost health care, even if both parents are working. For more information you may call the MAYOR’S HEALTH LINE at 1-800-847-0710 or Health Care of ALL at 1-800-272-4232 for more assistance. Harrington Hospital will also assist your family with completion of the forms when filing for medical insurance. Please call at 508-765-9771 x 2842. Please remember to call in before 8:45 if your child is planning on being tardy or sick from school at (508)885-8524 (messages can be left on the voicemail prior to 8:00.)

  4. From the Library: Study Island is up and running! Please speak to your Child about this program. It allows children to play games but to also prepare for MCAS. Usborne Book Fair We will be holding our Usborne Book Fair the week of October 29 thru November 2nd during library class. You may purchase books October 1st thru November 9th on line. This is a great time to do holiday shopping. They have over 1,400 books. You can either purchase by cash that week or credit card anytime. Please browse the website at www.myubam.com/5782. More information will follow. From the Cafeteria: On September 11, 2012, Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School Committee voted to increase the lunch prices for k-6 students from $2.50 to $2.75. This price increase will take effect as of October 1, 2012 and will meet the new state regulations as mandated. Breakfast will remain $1.50. We are now allowing children to pre pay milk money if they would like. Please send your children’s pre-paid lunch and milk money in on Monday morning if possible.

  5. Student Insurance: Any parent interested in purchasing student accident insurance for their child should go to the district website at www.seb.mec.edu. On the right hand side under resources click on Student Accident Insurance and you will be able to fill out the correct information. GET UP& GO FITNESS PROGRAM The Get Up & Go Program is in full swing. Attendance is running at 99.5% Congratulations parents for getting the students to their workouts so faithfully. During our workouts I am seeing amazing energy from our students. Thank you for making Session #1 a success. If anyone has a mini-trampoline, or ab machine that they are not using and wish to donate it to our program we would be very happy to take it. Any machine donated must be in excellent condition, just like our students. Thank you again, Mrs. Dupont! • WVS Food Drive • Wire Village School will be holding a Food Drive • the weeks of October 22nd thru November 2nd to benefit Mary Queen of the Rosary’s Food Pantry. Students and staff are asked to bring in non-perishable items like; hearty canned soup, especially chicken noodle, chili, canned chicken and hash, canned pasta meals, beef stew, canned spaghettios, and laundry detergent. We will be supplying students who are interested in donating with bags to put their items in.

  7. Room302ScaryStorieswith6TraitsofWriting Enter if you dare!!!!!!!!! Students in Rm 302 have been learning how to make their writing as interesting as possible through the study of the Six Traits of Writing. The Traits are: Ideas, Organization, Word Choice, Voice, Sentence Fluency, and Conventions. We will be spinning spooky, suspenseful stories, and poems to share with each other on Halloween in a Writers’ Circle, with only the light of a flashlight to read from.
