  3. Postgraduate students, both international and local non English-speaking background require highly specialised assistance attuned to yourlearning needs, your language levels, yourdiverse educational backgrounds, and therequirements of your course.

  5. Tasks for international research students • reading effectively • understanding Australian culture in informal conversation • developing your thesis/journal article writing • understanding and avoiding plagiarism • English structure and style • vocabulary development • seminar presentation

  6. What is available • Discipline-specific courses and workshops – specifically for Faculty of MNHS students

MNHS International Postgraduate Academic Support PhD classes 2012 • a) Research Writing Workshops, for international HDR students (see attachment)Wednesday 2/5, 4.00 -5.30, Clayton Campus, Bldg 15, room 219;  and Wednesday 30/5, 4.00 -5.30, Clayton Campus, Bldg 15, room 207. • b) a Thesis Writing Circle, for those international HDR students who are already writing parts of their thesis or working on articles. The focus will be on particular thesis chapters/ sections, as suits participants.Wednesday 11/4 and 9/5,  4.00 -5.30. Both sessions at Clayton Campus, Bldg 15, room 207 . • Both classes will run for 2nd semester as well and details  will be advertised later . • Email Rosemary.clerehan@monash.edu to enrol.
