  2. Agenda • The project • Key challenges • Chosen solution • Highlights / Room for Improvement • Lessons learned

  3. The Project - Location Baden

  4. The Project – Key Figures Station Extension of AIS Sils 380kV, Double Busbar Customer: Swiss Utility KHR, Kraftwerke Hinterrhein AG (www.khr.ch) Primary Equipment: Partially existing, Partially new CB‘s: new ABB, existing Sprecher&Schuh Isolators: Alpha (new and some existing), Sprecher&Schuh existing

  5. The Project – Scope of Supply • SAS630 • IEC61850 with GOOSE Interlocking • ICCP Gateway to NCC • 2 Ethernet Rings • Protection ABB REx670 & REB500 • Control with local Mimic/REC670 • Integration of existing equipment • Protection Siemens for Main 1 • Meters and Counters • Panels • Installation & Commissioning

  6. Key Challenges • Technology • First IEC61850 Project for this customer • Integration of Siemens Protection Relays • ICCP Communication to Network Control Centre • Retrofit • Existing Station in full operation • Preset shutdown window  tight time schedule • Commissioning to be done field by field during several months • GOOSE: How to ensure interlocking during commissioning phase

  7. Chosen solution – System Overview (1)

  8. Chosen solution – System Overview (2)

  9. Chosen solution – System Overview

  10. Chosen solution –Overview IEC Network

  11. Chosen solution – Station Overview

  12. Chosen solution – Bay Picture

  13. Chosen solution – Busbar Picture from REB500

  14. Chosen solution – Alarm Matrix

  15. Chosen solution – ICCP Gateway MicroSCADA Gateway OPC Server Data Exchange Substation at remote end Data Exchange Substation

  16. Chosen solution – Commissioning • SA System is tested completely at factory • All panels installed but not wired to process • Field by Field commissioning over 10 month • Station topology has to be simulated in panels for GOOSE interlocking

  17. Highlight • Close cooperation with customer (Work shops) • Commissioning on time (Energizing May 9th) • Good solution for ICCP Gateway • Matrikon OPC Data Manager • SISCO AX-S4 ICCP • Customer is happy with delivered Solution

  18. Room for Improvement • MicroSCADA Translation • RC WinTrans X8 works fine • Not all dialogs layout are in DLLs • Menus have to be translated separately (customizing) • MicroSCADA status texts with text translation tool

  19. Lessons Learned • Specification Phase in Project and Tendering is essential • Retrofit has it own rules to be considered • Requires flexible solution portfolio
