A single cd-rom can store up to 1gb although the most common size is 650mb. A cd-rom has the equivalent memory as 700 floppy disks.

  8. HDD • A hdd is short for hard disk drive, a hdd has the technology to store a large mass of data on it, the data is stored there even after the power is no longer on.

  9. Memory SD Cards The SD in SD card stands for Secure Digital card, SD cards are used in a range of portable devices such as: digital cameras, video camcorders, portable computers, phones and many more. SD cards are used to store data.

  10. vector graphic software vector graphic are a higher quality image than bitmap, they appear better quality on monitors and printers. Vectors also take up less memory than a bitmap. Vector graphics is the use of geometrical primitives such as points, lines, curves, and shapes or polygon(s).

  11. bitmap software Bitmap software is of less quality than vector it also takes up more memory. Bitmap software uses pixels which leaves images looking pixelated.

  12. photo manipulation software • Photo manipulation software such as adobe Photoshop is used to manipulate photos and images by changing the size, colour, or even adding to it or removing parts of it.

  13. Converting files • People convert files for different reasons for example to save space or maybe the program/web page you are using doesn’t support that file. BMP JPEG PNG GIF

  14. FILE TYPES and difference for the same picture. • bMP- 57.0 KB (58,436 bytes) bmp saves with a white back ground and takes the most memory. • JPEG- 37.7 KB (38,672 bytes) • jpeg also saves with a white backgroundand takes less memory than a bmp but more than a png. • PNG- 31.9 KB (32,686 bytes) • Png doesn’t save with a whight background and reqiurs less memory to save • GIF- 11.7 KB (12,043 bytes) • Gif also doesnt save with a white background and takes the least amount of memory to store.
