  3. iParent Trimester 1 • iParent opens on October 1 to view grades, 2 weeks later progress report comments will be available, usually comment on grades “C” or below, depends on the situation • Trimester 1 Grades Close 11/25, report card online • Rankbookupdate: can be about every 2 weeks, however I tend to update each week if there is a grade to add • graded assignments are returned to students before putting grades in iParent. Trimester 2 and 3 • iParent opens again on January 6 (T2)and April 7 (T3)

  4. GRADING • Point System • Homework-ranges 4 points-12 points depending on assignment, hw collected can be more points • Quiz-ranges from 40 points-75 points • Test-ranges from 80 points-100 points • Lab Report/Activity- 50 points -100 points (depending on the complexity of the lab/activity) • Science Journals: 20-40 points • Project: 50-100 points • Class Work/Participation/Organization: ongoing, add points at the end of the trimester

  5. Grading Timeline • HW: immediate feedback if checked and gone over in class, collected homework 1-3 days depending on length of assignment • Quiz/Test: 2 days-1 week • Projects: 1-2 weeks • Lab Reports: This takes me the longest to grade, I try for 2-3 weeks but on occasion it could be longer for a full lab report, students do correct them before handing in so they get a sense of how they did.
