  5. Theme: New Places • Quote: • “I really believe in challenging myself, pushing myself to new places.” • Jonathan Evison • Explanation/Question/Challenge: • I’m sure we have all heard the phrase, ‘you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it!’. Have you ever heard that and just shrugged it off? Sometimes overcoming our own insecurities in what we can achieve is the most difficult thing and when we do this we can be pushed to new levels of achievement. • If you could do anything when you leave school, what would it be? • Do you see yourself having a career in something? What? • In your groups talk about what you think you need to do to reach your goals.

  9. Year 7 and 8 Girls Rugby Tournament There is an opportunity for Year 7 and 8 Girls who are interested in playing rugby at Saracens Rugby Club for schools. The session will involve coaching and this will be followed by a Rugby festival at a later date. Initial session – Wednesday 30 October -  4.00 – 6.00pm (please note that this is during the half term break) Festival session – Thursday 21 November - 4.00 – 6.00pm We have also entered a team in the TWMAT Year 7and 8 Girls Rugby Tournament on Thursday 07 November so this would be a good introduction for this event. Mrs Davies would like to see anyone interested in any of these sessions at Break time on Friday in the gym. If you cannot make the half term one that won’t prevent you from attending the other sessions. Mrs Davies will be taking a minibus to the half term event if there is enough interest.

  10. PE Achievements Well done to the Year 7 Netball Team , TWMAT winners!! Huge congratulations to the 10 players who represented West Exe in the TWMAT Year 7 Tournament held at Isca. Everyone played with real conviction and played brilliantly in each game. For some students it was their first time playing a  match and their progression was obvious to see with each game. Their results are; WES v Cranbrook A won 4-0 WES v CranbrookB won 6-1 WES V St James A won 9-1 WES v Isca A won 2-1 WES v Isca B won 5-0 We have at least 14 students who have been regularly attending training and some were unable to play in the match. We will have more fixtures during the course of the year, so you all will be able to play a fixture for the school.
