  4. How do I create a flyer? • Consider how will your flyer be presented? • Colored paper? Transparencies? PowerPoint? With a Projector? Poor lighting? • Can an image emphasize a concept best?

  5. Plan the order of the information • People usually remember the 1st and last pieces of information best • Put most important information at the beginning & end/top & bottom

  6. General Flyer Guidelines • Text – “less is better” principle. Use as few words as possible. • Text Format – Consider size, shape, color, and position on the page.

  7. Appropriate images – • Should be eye-catching • Should convey message of flyer • Should grab attention • Should draw people to read the flyer • Does it need a border? • Nice border may help draw attention. • Be careful not to clutter flyer with background.

  8. Parts of Flyer • Headline • First line of text on flyer • Conveys product/service being offered • Body copy • Text between headline and signature line • Highlights key points of message • Use as few words as possible • Should be easy to read • Emphasize positive • Must be reasonable, honest & believable • Signature line • Last line of text • Contains contact information or the rallying call
