PROJECT ”Development of Software for Online Information System on Personnel Management in ICAR.”
Objectives • To design and develop database required for Manpower of ICAR set up. • To design and develop user interface for online data entry and updating. • To design and develop reports and queries for manpower information management.
ARCHITECTURE • The system is a web-based application • Based on client-server three tier distributed structure technology • Can be accessed from any node on the Internet through a web-browser
Development of the Database Database has been developed using SQL server 2000. The Relational Database approach is used to design the database. The fundamentals of Normalization theory have been used to normalize the different tables of the database. The main 39 entities of personal information from referential, personal and professional constitutes different tables with full attributes. Ten master tables are designed to provide the real world values.

System Design System has been designed into two modules: • Data Management • Deals with online entry and updating of information. • Management Reports • Provides information to managers at different levels to support the decision making process.
Data Management • Institute’s information on personnel and on institutional parameters are entered and updated by nodal officer at the institute, authorized by DBA • Council’s parameters are entered by DBA • Deletion of records can only be done by DBA
