  2. EVALUATION OF ACTION PLANS FOR 2014/2015 • 3 Key strategic focus areas: • Collaboration/Networking/Information dissemination • Damage Control • Training

Collaboration/Networking/Information dissemination • Networking (personal contact, internet, identified champions from stakeholder groups e.g. (GNAFF) and Netmapping exercise) including Universities, research institutions, PBS, ISAAA, Africa harvest, Women groups/associations, NBC, AU-NEPAD, ABNE, FARA, MOFA, GAAS (Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences), Ghana Journalist Association (GJA), MoH, NGOs, FBOs, Min. of Education, Attorney-General’s Department etc. • Collaboration with identifiable groups e.g. Chiefs (Front-line chiefs, National House of Chiefs, Regional House of Chiefs); National and Regional Farmers and Fishermen award winners, Ghana National Association of Farmers and Fishermen, Market Queens/market leaders in marketing crops, Biotechnology centers in Universities and Research Institutions; Biotechnology advocates/spokespersons.

  4. Collaboration/Networking/Information dissemination • Documentation and production of flyers, newsletter, FAQs, Policy briefs, flyers, brochures and information translation in local languages and dissemination to facilitate better understanding • Creation of OFAB-Ghana website. • Participation in information dissemination through farmer-field days and Workshops • Collaborate with local and international organizations e.g. PBS, ABNE, ISAAA, AU-NEPAD, USAID, BONUS EVENTUS to facilitate wide coverage of activities including information access and dissemination. • KufourFoundation and AGRA to be pursued for collaboration • Participation in Science fairs, exhibitions, Farmer fairs

  5. Damage Control • Immediate attendance to false/damaging information released by activists by radio/TV interviews, publications/articles in major papers; and collaboration with anti-activists turned-pro for information. • Setting up of a RAPID RESPONSE TEAM-Scientists + Media • Tracking of progress and identification of lapses through monitoring and evaluation (M&E)

  6. Training • Training of OFAB PC members and some selected scientists in effective communication and media relations in collaboration with the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) • Training public information officers from line Ministries, Universities and Research Institutes • Organization of training workshops for decision makers e.g. NBC, Parliamentarians, Ministers of State, Regulatory agencies like EPA, Customs, Immigration, FDA, SDA, Plant Protection, Consumer Protection Association and key persons identified in the NetMapping exercise, including key institutions i.e Media, MDAs, MoH, MESTI, MoFA, Min. of Local Government; Ministry of Chieftaincy Affairs; National awardees in Agriculture

  7. Responsibilities • Coordination of activities/programmes: Country Coordinator • Chairing of PC meetings: Country Coordinator • Implementation of activities: All PC members • Report writing, registration of participants, photography: Programming Assistant • Checking/reviewing/correction of report: Focal Person
