Regional Programmes • Participation in various international and regional meetings • Support to statistical issues at donor consultative groups (Mauritania, Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger) • Agreement on future peer reviews (Gambia, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Sierra Leone) • Agreement on future work in Central America, Caribbean, Arab States, Asia

Advocacy • Development of the Statistics Advocacy Toolkit (START) • Participation in Norway’s “Scaling Up Development Co-operation: from Statistics to Policy Planning Workshop” event • Assistance to the following countries on producing advocacy booklets & NSDS synthesis documents: • Burkina Faso • Cameroon • Ethiopia • Gabon • Mali • Mauritania • Niger • Tanzania

  4. C. Partnership • Partner Reporting on Support to Statistics (PRESS) – to be presented separately • Update of the Partnership Directory • Facilitation of Developing Country Statisticians in Relevant Events: • 12 countries to the 2008 UNSC session • 2 countries to VSS task team meeting • PARIS21 co-chair to the Kigali pre-conference for Accra HLF

  5. D. Reporting • Update of country NSDS sheets, including information on: • Strategic planning • NSDS implementation • Donor support • International and regional institution’s support • NSS structure • Use of data in national policy processes • Production of a toolkit on country reporting

  6. E. Studies & Knowledge Development • Production of new guidance: • Statistics and M&E • Disseminating data to intermediate and final users • Translation of existing guidance: • Sectoral Statistics guide (Spanish) • NSDS guide, Note on Applying System-wide Approach, Guide to Using System-wide Approach (Albanian, Serbian -- thanks to DFID) • Better Statistics, Better Policies, Better Development Outcomes (Arabic)

  7. F. Task Teams • Virtual Statistical System – to be presented separately • Intersect • Guide finalised in English, French. New version in Spanish. • Further development of sector guidance proposed • To be discussed in Addis in July 2008 • Training – to be presented separately • Subnational Statistics • Proposal for new task team, out of the Intersect work

  8. G. Management • Nomination of Secretariat Deputy Manager • Organisation of Bureau / Steering Committee meetings • Development of proposal on Tracking of Progress of the Partnership

  9. H. Satellite Programmes • International Household Survey Network (IHSN) • Accelerated Data Program (ADP) • Measuring Human Rights, Democracy and Governance (Metagora) All three will be the subject of separate presentations today.
