Solution • Produce a tool to intensify fighting against illegal copying of existing trademarks (logos), and industrial designs: eMage database containing Registered Trademark and Industrial Design (RTID)data • from national and regional RTID collections (AT, FR, HU, PT, WO, OHIM) • using multilingual natural language interfaces (EN, FR, DE, PT) • and image processing techniques with pattern recognition

  4. Content of the database 1 Valid figurative trademarks (Total number of the images: 1.013.776)

  5. Content of the database 2 Valid and non-valid industrial designs (Total number of images: 1.049.834)

  6. Benefits • Simplified access to RTID databases on a cost-effective and time consuming manner for the following target groups: • European customs and police who want to intensify the fight against counterfeiting • Supporting the general public, particularly SMEs to protect their own trademarks or industrial designs, and to avoid infringements • IP Offices and attorneys (lawyers) who have to perform prior art searches
