The Why • Digital Teaching and Learning • Transitioning the way teachers teach and students learn through tech • Teachers and students have access to up-to-date content instead of textbooks that are 5 or more years old • Engagement of students increases as their work becomes more relevant due to deep and enriching content • Students gain digital age skills such as collaborative learning • Parents will be more engaged in their children’s learning through tech • Adequate broadband connections are the foundation on which all digital learning is built.

The Four OCLI Objectives Fiber to Every School 6 districts still need fiber (100% are in rural areas) Meet 2018 Bandwidth Goal As of 2017, 74% of districts are not yet meeting the Oklahoma Connect & Learn Initiative goal of 1Mbsp per student Wi-Fi in every classroom $77 was set aside for in Category 2 E-rate funding for Oklahoma schools. Schools that have not spent any of these funds in the last five years or started spending in 2015 must act now before these funds expire. Make Broadband Affordable As of 2017, 207 school districts do not meet benchmark prices for broadband services ($3/Mbps)
