Sunamgonj is a place of natural beauty and lakes. As long as the eyes will go, you will feel like it’s never ending peace. It was Full Moon night, so the shape of the moon can be seen in the water from the roof of the boat. It is unique. And when the boatman sings his native songs in this full moon night then you cannot imagine how the environment feels like! It is mandatory to come here to enjoy the beauty of the water.

  1. Sunamgonj is a place of natural beauty and lakes. It is located around Cherrapunji, India, about 68 kilometers away from Sylhet but inside Bangladesh Border. Sunamgonj Sunamgonj is a place of natural beauty and lakes. As long as the eyes will go, you will feel like it’s never ending peace. It was Full Moon night, so the shape of the moon can be seen in the water from the roof of the boat. It is unique. And when the boatman sings his native songs in this full moon night then you cannot imagine how the environment feels like! It is mandatory to come here to enjoy the beauty of the water. Sunamgonj is located around Cherrapunji, India, about 68 kilometers away from Sylhet. During this season, on a full-moon night, I along with other 44 people went from Chittagong to Sunamgonj. The whole Sunamgonj trip was cover in 2 days. Per head, we spent around 2600 rupees for the whole trip. Let’s hear my travelogue….

  2. Sunamgonj Travelogue Although there is a direct bus from Dhaka, there is no direct bus from Chittagong to Sunamgonj. You must first come to Sylhet to go to Sunamgonj from Chittagong. Bus stand is located in front of the Sylhet Rail Station. From there, you can go to Sunamgonj by bus. If you reach Sylhet early in the morning then you can start your journey to Sunamgonj early. Bus fare will be 100 takas. You will reach within 2 hours. Each person will be able to reserve tempu/leguna again to Tahirpur area. Each Tempu will take 1200 taka and 15 persons can seat. After reaching Tahirpur, you have to fix the boat. The biggest boat rental there is 8000 taka. There are sleeping arrangements. There are also toilets. At the end of the post, I will give the number of the boatman. Before starting the main journey you have to go to the Tahirpur Police Station and make entry. Then you will have to enter the market for buying materials for 2 days. After all this work then only your main tour will start.

  3. Tanguar Haor (Sunamgonj) You will start the journey from Tahirpur Ghat to Haor. Within hours, you will go deep into the Haor. Here there is a swamp forest. It is bigger and thicker than the Ratargul. You will need a small boat to enter inside. If you want to go inside then the boatman will arrange it. This swamp forest will be crossed into the Watchtower. It is possible to see the beautiful view of the entire Haor from its tip. Be careful to jump from the top of Watchtower as many people died as a result of the jump. The sun will turn red in the sky on the Haor in the evening which will create an incredibly beautiful scene. Once you see with your eyes then you will not be able to move. In the evening, the boat will take place at Tekerghat. You can eat tea and snacks from the local market. The night will be spent there. In the light of the moon, you can sit on the roof of the boat and sing song and enjoy.

  4. Lakmachara First of all, go to the Lakmachara the next morning. You will get this place from Tekerghat just by walking to the main street and you will get the place in 15 to 20 minutes. This is basically a rhyme like Jaflong.

  5. Niladri Lake Although its official name is Shaheed Siraj Lake, it is also known in this name. Because of limestone mines, it is also known as Limestone Lake. This will awaken the desire of bathing in the transparent water of this lake. In front of the lake, there is a hill surrounded by another hill. This hill attracts melodious hills of Meghalaya.

  6. Bajhachara Fountain Fix motorcycle from Niladri lake to go to Shimul garden. He will pay 100 rupees per day. He will show you this fountain on the way to Shimul garden. If you have a small shower in the fountain, you can get peace in the light. Shimul garden This garden is with two thousand Shimul trees on about 100 acres of land. The other time is filled with greenery, but in the spring it can be seen as a different type of garden. The entire garden is covered in red color. Every pulse has a Shimul swelling of red color.

  7. Barikka Tilah To go Barikka Tila you will have to walk 15-20 minutes from Shimul garden. There is a pillar of zero points. On the other side of this pillar lies India. From here, there is a tremendous view of the Jadukata river.

  8. Jadukata River This is the best place for the whole trip. There is a magic in this river. The magic of the river under the Barikka pillar is like the Pangong lake of Ladakh. The color of the water is very blue. If you do not drink the water once, we cannot feel the magic. The boat will come to Jadukata river from Tekerghat to fetch you all. The boat will take you again to the Haor from where you started your trip and from there you will have to go again in the same way as you can

He cooked really good food and gave us a wonderful trip. And now in Tanguar Haour, there is an availability of a tent. For Tent- 01748972158 (Mr.Sohag).   10. Some important things: 1. If you do not know swimming, then life jackets must be kept. And if you know swimming you can get benefits if you keep life jackets. 2. Keep Identity card with you. 3. 15-16 people’s team will be able to visit at a very low cost. 4. Keep Power Bank. 5. Local people take care of hospitality but kindly do not argue with them.
