Macassar interior • With the Model Year change to the new 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S dark burr maple and light burr maple will be replaced by two new kinds of wood. • Existence: East India, Bombay, Sri Lanka and Sumatra • Macassar impresses by a black/light reddish brown striped wood colour with matt finish. • Macassar is really hard and therefore robust and resistant to damaging and aging. • The design is actual and ahead of the current trend to wood with matt finish in the • production of vehicles. • This wood is especially used in the production of furniture and musical instruments.

Sycamore interior • With the Model Year change to the new 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S dark burr maple and light burr maple will be replaced by two new kinds of wood. • Existence: Europe, north-America • Sycamore impresses by a reddish grey to reddish brown wood colour with matt finish and strong grain. • Sycamore is really hard and therefore robust and resistant to damaging and aging. • The design is timeless and little scrolled. • This wood is especially used in the production of tubs and musical instruments.

Interior carbon fiber • With the Model Year change to the new 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S there will be a new base material for the parts which are finished in carbon fiber. • The new carbon fiber structure is finer and has a tighter mesh. • Carbon is a hightech material. Because of e.g. the Carrera GT it is currently in the focus • of our customers. • The carbon fiber mat is glued onto the part which is to be finished. • Afterwards it is painted several times with synthetic resin and polished. • After concluding with a clear-coat finish the high-gloss look is obtained.

  36. 2.2 Price trend of the Exclusive/Personalization programme for the new models • The price strategy for the Exclusive programme for the new 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S is taken over from the successful previous model. • 63 % of the options of the new models will be adjusted regarding product content (no take-over parts from 996), but the price level will not be raised • 21 % of the options (take-over parts from 996) are less expensive even though product • content is almost the same • All options which are more expensive (compared to the previous model) have a more valuable product content

Porsche Exclusive stands for detail solutions and is working on large numbers of ideas for the Custom Tailoring options of the new 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera S. • With the new models Porsche Exclusive starts with the Personalization programme. • Some Exclusive/Custom Tailoring options will be • taken over with small modifications from the • previous model (e.g. release lever rear seat, • two-tone sun visors etc.) • New options, which were specificly developed for the new models, will follow with the Exclusive/ Custom Tailoring programme for MY05
