  3. eText Update • eText v4.5.1 - Hot Fix deployed • Fixed Whiteboard icon in Elementary Skin • eText 4.6 -In QA • Internal release to support PCL and DL projects • Improvements to the Toolkit • eText v4.7 -Development almost complete • Targeting late-June • Server federation • Flex Bookshelf migrated to HTML – Demo • Ability to control underline and transparency of hotspots in Authoring on an individual basis • Bug fixes • eText v4.8 - In Planning • Targeting BTS • RUMBA version of LTI (S11) for International

  4. eText for iPad and Android • eText for iPad v1.1.1 development underway • Targeting a release in early June • Improved display performance for all iPads including iPad3 • Will require minimum iOS v5.0 • eText for Android v1.1 • In final QA for SMS • RUMBA and eCollege versions to follow • eText for iPad/Android v1.2 • Targeting release for summer • Planned features include: • Support for federated servers • Support for transparent/underline hotspots • Support for full multi-tasking • Two-line display of Book title (iPad) • Forced landscape (iPad) • Limit 2-page display (iPad)

  5. eText LTG Analytics • Proof-of-concept underway • 22 titles for School and HiEd • Targeting v1.0 for BTS • Business Units can learn: • What pages are users viewing and in what order? • How are users personalizing their books? • What interactive elements are they clicking? • What search and glossary terms are they looking for?

  7. Integration Update • No S11 integration with MMND this fall • MMND supports S1, S5 and S6 • Contact Paul Sheppard for info • RUMBA LTI • Will enable bi-directional linking • Requires LMS to provide course construct • Targeting BTS 2012 timeframe for Int’l

Pearson Digital Library • A planned new CMS platform for BTS 2012 designed to address the need of students and instructors to search, preview, purchase, and then manage their ebook and digital media content. • Search or browse through a large collection of Pearson eText titles and media content • Access the Digital Library using a personal computer‘s web browser or mobile device • Business Units can pre-defined collections or allow individual users to expand their bookshelf by subscription • PLS can created custom libraries for sales to institutions • Initial release will be guided by the requirements of the US and Canadian Teacher Education and Canadian MBA teams, as well as the Nursing/Ready Point teams and focused on eText titles • English, Sociology and History are looking to integrate DL with their MyLabs this fall. Other Softside teams anticipate availability for Jan 2013. Int’l HiEd has also expressed interest in using DL in 2013. • Future releases will include searching for Pearson media assets, collection personalizations and more.

A quick word or two re Digital… • CMS is working across PENA to standardize XMLs • CMS is conducting an investigation of CS6 as a digital composition tool • CMS is rolling out the new Workflow for HiEd now and School in 2013 • A integration between the Media Server and Documentum is planned. • Planning is underway to support a number of Digital Extensions to the Workflow including a new re-flowable eText in 2013, nicknamed “NextText”.
