  2. United Kingdom- Geography Small island nation Includes the countries of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland Capital is London, England Divided into Highland (North and West) and Lowland (South and East) Jagged coastline with good harbors for trading vessels

  5. United Kingdom- Natural Resources Natural Resources coal, oil and natural gas; which is found in the highlands Oil and natural gas recently found in the North Sea recently made Great Britain a super hub!

  6. United Kingdom- Where people live Most people live in lowland for farming 60% of the countries food is produced there. The country only has to import about 30% of food. 7 million people live in London

  7. United Kingdom- Trade Trade is done mainly by boat. The United Kingdom produces potatoes, grains, vegetables and meats because of the moist climate.

  9. Russia- Geography Largest country in the WORLD Located near the Artic Ocean Capital is Moscow Farmlands on Northern European Plains Only 10% of land is cropland

  10. Russia- Climate Four major climates: Tundra- cold all year, little rainfall Subarctic- long, cold winters, short, warm summers Humid Continental- 4 distinct seasons, long, cold winters and short warm summers Steppe- hot summers with cooler winters

  12. Russia- Natural Resources Rich in mineral resources- there are huge deposits of coal, oil and natural gas. BUT because of the harsh climate and remote location it is difficult to harvest. Grains such as wheat and barley are major crops

  13. Russia- Where people Live Most people live in west Russia on European Plain because of major cities, farmlands and the warmest temperatures in the country 9 million people live in Moscow

  14. Russia- Trade Most food has to be imported Goods are transported by railroads because rivers and major ports are blocked by ice in winter
