  5. MAGALAT REVOLT • The Magalat revolt was an uprising in 1596,led by Magalat,chief of Tuguega- rao (Cagayan) and his brother in opposition to the illicit tribute collection.The Spanish Governor-General

  6. Francisco Tello de Guzman sent Pedro de Chaves with colonial troops . They fought successfully against the rebels and captured and executed several leaders under Magalat. Magalat was assasinated by his own men who were promised rewards by the Spaniards.
