  3. Objectives • Become familiar with AmeriCorps Environmental Stewardship performance measures • Understand WSC’s collection and reporting expectations of your AmeriCorps performance measures • Increase your knowledge and awareness in your ability to report data correctly on a quarterly basis 

  4. Role of Reportsand Performance Measurement The process by which organizations establish criteria for determining the quality of their activities, based on organizational goals. Regular measurement of your intended outcomes: • Improves performance • Enhances decision making • Demonstrates accountability • Justifies continued funding • Improves quality of services • Promotes continuous improvement

Environmental Stewardship Primary Performance Measure Statewide Goal • Output: 30,000 unduplicated individuals, will complete an AmeriCorps-supported training in environmental awareness and/or energy efficiency AND • Outcome: 21,000 (70%) of these individuals will indicate an increase in knowledge or awareness of energy efficient and/or environmentally conscious practices

  8. Celebrate Your Success! • Your members are part of a bigger network and it is reporting that allows for capturing impact!

  9. Primary level outcomes • Document the unduplicated individuals who participated in training • Survey the participants to gauge whether they’ve gained knowledge or confidence • Review/analyze the data for positive change • Complete WSC quarterly report in Google docs

Quarterly Reporting Allows monitoring of progress to reach goals Quarter 1 Report Due 12/13/13 for period 9/01/13 to 11/30/13 Quarter 2 Report Due 03/14/14 for period 12/01/13 to 02/28/14 Quarter 3 Report Due 06/13/14 for period 03/01/14 to 05/31/14 Quarter 4 Report Due 09/13/14 for period 06/01/14 to 08/31/14 The link to the electronic Quarterly Report will be sent to your site by email about 2 weeks before the due date

  12. Track individuals receiving Environmental Education All participants need to be surveyed to verify an increase in knowledge

  13. WSC expects sites to educate legislators, elected officials, and other stakeholders about their AmeriCorps project • Work with local media to promote the importance of your project

  14. Report data for current reporting period only • Do not report cumulative data or data reported previously • If a question doesn’t apply to your project, enter 0

  15. Submit the following to WSC by Dec 2nd 1. Copies of data tracking tools Including but not limited to: pre/post training surveys, class attendance records, tracking charts 2. Explanation of data tracking procedure Describe how data is collected, analyzed, tracked, reported and retained 3. Send electronically to Robert Brader at: Rbrader@esd.wa.gov Retain performance measurement documentation for 7 years from the close of the contracted program year

Stories of Service email stories and photos to wscip@esd.wa.gov A story of service is one that touches the heart and possibly inspires someone to act, serve, or be a catalyst for change themselves It illustrates the qualitative impact of service and rounds out the story told by performance data Personal accomplishment and reflection Reports success Marketing to recruit new AmeriCorps members and host organizations Sustainability for future programs

  18. Records Retention • Retain performance measurement documentation for 7 years from the close of the program year • This retention schedule is a state and federal requirement • Documents to be retained include but are not limited to: attendance rosters, surveys, other tracking documents
