  3. For example, you use the suffixto make words plural lady becomes ladies

  4. What happened to the y? Sometimes y is like a vowel and you lose it when you add the suffix. So the y in lady, pony and baby goes

  7. Words ending in f and fe lose the f /feand change to ves Leaf becomes leaves Knife becomes knives Wife becomes wives

  8. Another suffix is ing Lose the e when adding ing. L

  9. Words ending in e lose it Give changes to giving Dance changes to dancing Smile changes to smiling

  10. There are other rules when adding the suffixing. For words having one vowel and one consonant you need to double the last consonant.

  12. Words ending in y stay the same Carry = carrying Study = studying Marry = marrying

  13. When forming adverbs from adjectives you need to drop the y and replace it withibefore adding the suffix ly

  14. for words like angry = angrily hungry = hungrily weary = wearily merry = merrily happy - happily

  15. Drop the le of words ending in le and add the ly Horrible = horriblyterrible = terriblygentle = gently
