  1. Are Protein Shakes Good For You Yes protein shakes are good for you, depending on the kind of protein supplement you choose, your body, your goal and your diet. It is important to check what the protein supplement is made of before buying and the amount of protein content per scoop. Don’t read reviews and buy a product, but make your decision based on facts. Some points are: Protein per Scoop: Various brands contain different protein quantity per scoop. It is good to select a brand that has more protein per scoop. Deciding the best protein supplements for muscle growth is confusing, but not impossible. Protein Source: Protein powders come from different sources like plants, dairy (milk), meat, etc. Example MyProtein Vegan Protein, Oziva Plant-Based Protein (Rice, Pea, Quinoa), NakPro Whey Protein, etc. Go with one that suits your body. If you are lactose intolerant, then don’t go for casein and whey protein. If you are allergic to soy then don’t go for products having soy lecithin. Artificial Additives: Read the ingredients carefully and check out the additives in the product. Some examples are artificial colors and flavours, fillers (to increase quantity), milk solids, vegetable oils and fats, artificial sweeteners, etc. Your Requirements: Not everyone needs the same amount of protein powder. It differs for people and it is best to talk to your nutritionist before deciding on anything. Just because someone says to have 3 scoops, it doesn’t work for everyone. Having more than you need may lead to side effects like bloating, stomach pain and other issues as well as a lot of stress of kidneys.
