  2. The Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 authorizes the central government to protect and improve environmental quality and the growth of the Plants and trees. It controls and reduces pollution from all sources, and prohibits or restricts the setting and /or operation of any industrial facility on environmental grounds. The Environment (Protection) Act was enacted in 1986 with the objective of providing for the protection and improvement of theenvironment.

Before the act the Black market of treeswas spread and the businessman was cutting for their profits and selling into the market in which the government have not have the count of the trees in forests, It empowers the Central Government to establish authorities charged with the mandate of preventing environmental pollution in all its forms and to tackle specific environmental problems that are peculiar to different parts of the country. The Act was last amended in 1991 for the control of cutting the trees. This act provides the power of arresting and charging a fine to the person who is doing the black market or has not the license or noc of cutting thetrees.
