2. What is Western Red Cedar? Western Red Cedar is recognized as Canada's finest and most durable species. It is mainly present between the 39th and the 57th degree of north latitude, and especially present in British Columbia, province of the west coast of Canada. They are found north of this region to Alaska and south to California. The tree also grows west of the Cascade Mountains in humid forests along the favorable climate coastal region which is also a premier ecological reserve.
