Dropout Rate Negative Withdrawal Codes • When students are initially withdrawn with a negative withdrawal code the dropout rate will be impacted. • The negative dropout codes are: • DNE (No Show) • W05 (Release from compulsory school attendance) • W13 (Court Action) • W15 (Non Attendance – 18 or over) • W18 (Medical Reasons) • W21 (Expelled from school) • W22 (Whereabouts unknown)

  3. Dropout Rate Negative Withdrawal Codes • When processing a transcript request include the following: • The name of the institution/public school requesting transcripts • City and state Attendance Services staff will change to the appropriate withdrawal code taken from monthly reports.

  4. INACTIVE STUDENTS REQUESTING TRANSCRIPTS • In the requestor information field do not use the following: • Personal name of the student or self • Telephone numbers • Will pick up • Letter “P” • Parent will pick up

  5. DNE (No Show) Report Product No. T0500P36-01 • DNE report is available in Control-D Reports and should be researched by school site staff indicating the whereabouts of students. • Update information on the report. • Submit to Data Input staff in Attendance Services to change negative withdrawal codes. StudentAttendance@dadeschools.net

  6. POTENTIAL DROPOUT REPORT (ACTIVE STUDENTS – NO FUTURE DESTINATION)

  7. These students will be considered Dropouts at Rollover (August of each year) and will be withdrawn with W22 (Whereabouts Unknown).

  8. Product # T0500P11-01 Students on this report need to be futured immediately. If not processed: • affects allocations • class size • dropout rate Student Information Specialist, Attendance Services, will monitor this process. This report is created on the 30th of each month from March through August.

  9. ESE Dropout • Encourage ESE students to remain in attendance prior to their 22nd birthday. • Do not withdraw students with attendance issues. • Process Truancy Package for Secondary Schools.

  10. Graduation Codes • WFW – Graduate-Standard Diploma, FCAT Waived • Documents has to be signed (in a timely manner) by ALL appropriate department prior to graduation. • W07 – Graduate, Special Diploma, Opt. 1 • W8A – Certificate of Completion/CPT-Elig • WGD – Passed GED only • WFT – Graduate-Standard Diploma, Alternative Assessment • WFT procedures available: http://attendanceservices.dadeschools.net/presentations.asp

  11. Graduation CodeW27 Schools should only be allowed to input a W27 when the following conditions exist in ISIS. • Student is at least 16 years of age • Student has completed 2 semesters in a high school • Student has 3 credit hours • 1 credit in Social/Personal skills • 1 credit in a Job Preparatory Class • 1 credit in any other area • There is a N in standard Diploma on PF4
