  1. Room 101/Getting to know you • Notes: Two activities. • Starter: The same game. Each pupil needs a copy of the grid. They need to fill out a name in each box by walking around and talking to other people. Cant use same person more than twice. • 2) Room 101 – the main activity of the session. Use PP to explain the activity/background. Watch the first clip from Children In Need. • Pupils complete the Room 101 as a class (3-4 at a time) • Fun clip of Mimes in Room 101 at the end if there is any time.

  2. The Same Game You need to complete ALL of your bingo card.

  3. The name of a person with the same…. as you. Rule: you can only use the same person twice!

  4. 'You asked me once,' said O'Brien, 'what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world.'

  5. Room 101 is a BBC TV show. It is based off a a place in a book called 1984 by George Orwell. The person speaking chooses their pet hate. They need to convince the audience to put it into Room 101 by being persuasive.

  7. Your Turn You have 3 minutes to choose something you hate and think of at least two reasons to persuade other people to put it into Room 101. Examples…. Spitting (Julian Clary) Litter (Liza Tarbuck) Clowns (Chris Tarrant & Tracey Emin) Mobile phones (Kathy Burke) Annoying Noises (Ricky Gervais) People in front of you who walk just too slowly Beards

  8. 4 people stand at the front and persuade the group to put their choice into room 101. 2) We will have a vote on what to put in the room and find out the winner each time. 3) Then it is the next four people’s chance! Everyone should try to take a go.
