  3. A RARE IMAGE • This is a very rare image, as they do not last for long. For many stars these radiant explosions only happen for a brief period in the life. • (example on the left).

  4. HD 148937 • The blue central star, known as HD 148937, is part of a triple system. It is the brightest of these stars with the others orbiting around it. • This extremely hot star is loosing mass continuously from its outer layers. • This picture shows the star giving an active outbursts that giving rise to the symmetrical shells

  5. SUPERGIGANTIC STAR • HD65750 is a SUPERGIANT star found at the centre of its nebula. • The nebulosity around the star is caused by light reflecting of the surrounding dust. • The dust is thought to consist mainly of silica particles condensed from the material which the star is loosing at a fast pace. • The mass loss is more higher than a normal star. • This mass is needed to make the reflection nebula IC 2220.
