The Apaches Indians

The Apache Indians, part of the Southern Athabasca linguistic family, were nomadic hunter-gatherers residing mainly in present-day New Mexico and Arizona. Their diet included various plants, berries, prairie dogs, and small game, while they avoided fish. Homes built by women, known as wickiups, were dome-shaped and temporary, reflecting their nomadic lifestyle. Apache clothing combined practicality with beauty, featuring deerskin outfits in winter and matching leather skirts and blouses in summer. Their rich cultural structure centers on family and survival in a challenging environment.
