  2. Touch • Nerve endings in the skin send massages to the brain that tell us about what we are touching , such as whether if it’s warm , cold , hot , painful , soft , prickly or rough and sticky. • We have the sense of touch because without it , we won’t be able to live. We need touch because , that way we could tell how things are and sometimes what they are.

  3. Smell • When we breath the air goes into our nose through our notrils. There a re a lot of tiny hairs in our nose. They catch all the dust in the air. Damp , sticky things are called mucus they trap more of the dust germs while they enter the nose. Then the nerves inside the nose takes massages to the brain telling it about the smell that is coming through the nose in the air. • We need the sense of smell beacause , without it we wouldn’t know how things smelled like and sometimes smell helps us to get to know things

  4. Taste • The tongue is covered with very little tiny bumps which are called taste buds. They are over 10,00 of them covering the tongue. Taste buds are on different Parts of the tongue which taste different things like : sweet , sour , salty and Bitter. The chemicals in the food that we eat make the taste buds work And nerves in the tongue send massages to the brain which tells us what we Are tasting. The sense of smell also helps us to taste our food. • We need our sense of taste because , it made such an impact in our life without it life would be hard. It tells us how things taste like and what type of food they are.

  5. Hearing • The sound travels in waves through the air into our ears. The sound waves travel through our ear into small tunnels. The sound eaves reach a thin layer of skin called the eardrum and then it vibrates. Massages about the vibration move along nerved to the brain. After that the brain tells you what sound it is. For hearing, nerves in the inner ear tell our brain which way we’re moving and going. That helps you to keep your balance. • Hearing is a very important part of our lives. Hearing helps us to listen to music , people , and everything else around us and living without it will be utterly hard.

  6. Sight • The eye is just like a camera. When we’re looking at something our eye takes the light from it and make a tiny picture of it in the back of the eyeball. After that nerved inside the eyeball take a massage to the brain about the picture. Then the brain tells us what’s the thing that we’re looking at. The light travels in the eye through the pupils. The part at the back where the picture is taken is called the retina. The light is focused on the retina by the “lens”, which is just behind the pupil. The nerve to the brain is the optic nerve. • The sense of sight helps us to see the world and discover lots of things and that’s why it’s very important.
