  2. Trust Funds with the IDB • 45 trust funds from 18 donor countries and 1 multilateral donor institution; the European Union • Annual allocation approximately USD 35 million • Resources are used for consulting services (not equipment) • Resources are tied or untied

  3. Technical Cooperation Activities • Project identification • Project appraisals and feasibility studies • Institutional strengthening of executing agencies • Strategic and sector studies • Capacity building • Pilot projects • Regional projects

  4. Technical Cooperation Approval Process • Technical cooperation requests from beneficiary country • IDB country office clears/recommends • Country divisions review • Technical Cooperation Coordination Unit consults with donor • Bank approves

Norwegian Trust Funds with the IDB • Social Inclusion Trust Fund • Created in 2003 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs • Norwegian Trust Fund for Women in Development • Created in 1993 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs • Norwegian Fund for Innovation of Social Programs in Central America • Created in 1997 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs • Norwegian Trust Fund for Consulting Services • Created in 1994 by NORAD
